Microsoft Win8 – changes to the industry

Well, it seems that no longer are phone’s and tablets using an App Store, now Windows 8 users will be purchasing software via the Microsoft App Store. Does this mean an end to retail sales for software companies? Will this take business away from Amazon?

Interesting, as Microsoft would have a nice tidy way to deliver goods to consumers, but more importantly Microsoft gains control over which software can run on Windows. Since Microsoft still has to worry about monopoly issues (not that they worry about government regulations) I’m thinking one will still be able to purchase software/Apps outside the Microsoft App store…

Interesting changes….Imagine if Windows 95 had an app store guessing companies like Netscape would have existed…….
